What a year its been so far! We seem to nail the weather every club round which is epic! The Club Rounds are running as smooth as ever with all our amazing volunteers, always such a great day with the BBQ feeding everyone and the waves and weather doing their bit.
We recently just purchased new Tablets – we spent a while choosing the right solution to run Live Heats and came up with the Lenavo Tablet . We used them in Club Round 2 and what a difference it made!! Such a major bonus to have gear that doesn’t need to be charged what felt like every 5 minutes and glitch out, so a massive thanks to our community for all the fundraising opportunites and support you give the club!
We had a solid support of Judges in Club Round 2 which also made running the event so much easier and we are currently looking at Surfing NZ Judging workshop for anyone that wants to attend and learn, Surfing NZ will travel to Hawkes Bay to hold the Workshop, the aim is to get a fluent, transparent judging criteria and give support to all the volunteers that sit there for hours on our Club Rounds. This also costs a bit of money so its something we are seeking funding for if you’re interested! Ha 😉
With Club Round 3 approaching next weekend (swell depending) the biggest event to watch will be the New Division for the day which is the Longboard Try Outs (has to be 9ft) to make the last spot in the Scholastics team. We are pumped about this so if you’re a high school student, member of the Boardirders before last Club Round, go get/borrow a 9ft board and get in that division to try out for the team to go to Taranaki in October for the week.
