What a trip eh!

Who would’ve EVER thought that the beach would be banned? So mental! One thing that it did do was raise your gratefulness for the ocean/waves/beach – im sure you’d all agree. When Level 3 hit and beaches became open I definitely noticed the happiness exuding from everyone – probably from the well earned rest that Level 4 forced (not in all cases of course) and the stokedness to get back in the ocean and probably the appreciation of friends, family and acquaintances that you hadn’t seen for a while.

So now we are in Level 3, the waves are pumping and the community of surfers are buzzing, ive talked to a few and they have been saying that they are supporting our local Surf Shops Boardzone and Hustle which is awesome! We want our local businesses to stick around so that was great to hear. Remember as Boardriders Members we get 10% off so be sure to take in your members card to receive that discount. If you don’t have your card yet, contact me here and we will organise getting it to you or you can collect at the next Club Round.

Currently I am waiting on the call of if we can have our next Club Round which we will find out in the next week. Fingers crossed! Welcome to all the new members! We are all stoked to meet you at the next round. If you haven’t been to a Club Round before, they are super chilled days, set up for a day at the beach and there’s food available to buy so bring some cash. We have a new division for the next round U12’s yewwww grommies. Any questions don’t hesitate to call Keri on 0291240748. 🙂

Update from Surfing NZ – So as a club we are affliliated to Surfing NZ, we attend some of their Comps as a Club, and also help individuals go to some National Events. I talked with the GM today and they are still waiting to see about a few things to see what will be going ahead for the rest of the year. Everyone seems to be in the same boat of just waiting, well I must say it’s teaching us all patience! Will update you all more information when I receive it. So far Scholastics in Kaikoura and Primarys Champs in Gisborne are going ahead but with a chance of being cancelled, we can still plan for it but with a few changes. This is something the Hawkes Bay Boardriders Committee will be discussing at their next meeting.

Until next time…
